Abstract

Elham’s expertise in interlocking masonry assemblies and the limit analysis of the validity of form-active discrete structures is unique and especially important for making low-carbon dry assembled masonry structures. One visionary application of such structures can be in mass-customizable affordable quality housing. Her methodology for segmentation of discrete element assemblies to design the strong voussoir geometries is particularly elegant and comprehensive.
