This is a model to estimate (not calculate in any physical unit) how much a configuration of buildings is lit throughout a year or shadowed by its neighbours. Due to the fact that it does not calculate the amount of radiation in terms of a physical unit it can only be used for comparing design alternatives. In other words, it cannot be used as a simulation model. This work uses the Sun Vector model by Andrew Heumann.
